How does Hair Removing Laser works?

Hair Removal Laser has been in use since 1997 and the US FDA approved it for permanent hair reduction. Lasers causes localized damage by selectively heating black target matter melanin that is responsible for black color of hair, while not affecting the rest of the skin. This is the reason for minimal side effects of Laser hair Removal.

Which Laser will be best suited for Indian skin?

ND YAG Laser is best suited for the Indian skin. As we Indians have dark colored skin, ND YAG Laser is approved by US FDA to be the best for Indian skin.


What areas of the body can be treated with Laser hair Removal?

Hair removing Laser is able to precisely treat all those areas of our body with visible and dark thick black hair. Hair Removing Laser is more effective on light colored skin with dark hair as compared to dark colored skin with light hair.
In Women, the most common areas of treatment are upper lips, chin, side lobes, bikini lines, arms and legs, and underarms.
In Men, the most common areas for treatment are shoulders and back, and the beard area, sometimes ear lobes. It can even give shape to the eyebrows, but needs to be careful.


How many treatments will I need and how will they be spaced?

As every person is different from the others, it depends entirely on an individual, but usually maximum results are realized in 4 to 6 sessions. They are usually spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the chin region and 8 to 9 weeks apart for below the chin region.


How much time one sitting of Laser Hair Removal takes?

It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes for chin and otherwise it depends upon the areas to be treated.


Does Laser treatment hurt?

No it is a painless treartment. Cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure to completely reduce the discomfort.


Are there any side effects after treatment and how long will they last?

ND YAG Laser is approved by US FDA. There are no serious side effects. You may have some degree of redness which usually disappears within few minutes. Very rarely there could be brownish mark which may remain for few days.


What precautions should I take before and after the laser treatment?

Before:
Avoid waxing, threading, plucking 3 weeks before starting with the Laser treatment

After:
It’s preferable to apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher and avoid direct sun exposure.


How long do the effects of Laser treatment last?

It depends upon the particular condition of the patient, like hair growth, skin texture, if the growth is hereditary and most important whether there is any underlying hormonal imbalane pushing the growth again.Though mostly patients are lucky and dont get any recurrence but it is better to expect few maintanence sittings after the gap of few months to years.
