Botox injections :

BOTOX is a simple, nonsurgical, doctor administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows or crow lines in people of any age. It is approved by the Food and Drug Administration. This is a 10-minute outdoor lunch time treatment- a few tiny injections-and within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary. BOTOX is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time. The lines that appear between your brows (glabellar lines) actually result from muscle movement with the passage of time. Like if you're angry or annoyed, for example, you knit your brows together. Underneath your skin, your facial muscles contract, cause a pleating of the overlying skin, and then, as anyone can see, you're frowning. After years of crinkling and wrinkling, those glabellar lines start to linger longer and can become more pronounced. For women, whose facial skin is typically more delicate, these lines may appear exaggerated and more permanent. BOTOX injections can be taken after every 4 months or later as required according to results. Don't plan for botox if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant and even if you are breastfeeding. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you are suffering from any diseases that affect your nerves and muscles. Also tell the doctor about all the medications being taken before going in for botox treatment.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) Chemical Peels :

Glycolic acid peels are the most common chemical facial peels using alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA. Glycolic acid(neostrata USA)is an alpha hydroxy acid that occurs naturally in sugar cane. AHA chemical peels are a popular way to slough off layers of dead skin cells. They encourage skin cell regeneration and require little or no recovery time. During AHA chemical peels, glycolic acid penetrates the surface layers of the skin and loosens the dry, thick skin that makes the complexion look aged and dull. As a result of glycolic acid peels, skin with a smoother and more youthful texture is revealed.

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Chemical Peels :

TCA chemical peels are mid-level peels that involve applying trichloroacetic acid to the skin. After TCA peels, a superficial brownish crust forms over the treated area, then peels off within three to seven days. The newly revealed skin may appear reddish, but the discoloration will soon fade to reveal dramatically improved texture, color, and overall appearance. TCA chemical peels are popular but it needs quite an experienced dermatologist to do this as it could be dangerous in inexperienced hands. They are an excellent "spot" treatment, can be used on any exposed area of the body, and can be completed in as little as 10 minutes.

Crystal peeling/Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion (often referred to as crystal peeling) is a cosmetic procedure popular in dermatologist's practices, and medical spas, in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. Method include mechanical abrasion from jets of aluminum oxide crystals which are removed or vacuumed off through the wand/handpiece through which the abrasive particles come. Microdermabrasion is used to remove sun-damaged skin and to remove or lessen scars(acne scars) and dark spots on the skin. The procedure is not painful and requires no anaesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin. Patient has to keep strict sunprotection after the procedure.

Accugel treatment

This is a treatment for under eye dark circles. In this treatment whitening cream is used and accugel probe is used to massage and help this cream penetrate the skin. It is multiple sitting procedure and done at weekly to fortnightly interval. Procedure takes 20 minutes for one sitting.

Dermafillers

'Dermafillers are used for treatment of lines, lip augmentation and feature enhancement. Most common use of them is in nasolabial lines and lip augmentation. At our clinic we use Restylane and Perlane.

Restylane is a gel that is injected into the skin so as to add volume to the wrinkle lines, lips and lifts up folds. A small amounts of Resytlane is injected directly into the skin which lifts up the wrinkle or gives more volume to the lips. Wrinkles can be raised to the level of the surrounding skin and the contours of the lips can be enhanced to the desired levels. The most common areas where wrinkles occur are the gabella lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the wing of the nose to the angle of the mouth) and the lips, but other sites can also be treated.

Treatment with Restylane is a very easy and quick process. Since no pre-test is needed, the treatment can be carried out immediately and takes about 30 minutes. The result is instant! Restylane is injected with a very thin needle.
